Red Velvet Rises With "Red Flavor"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2017, July Week 5
Red Velvet’s “Red Flavor” moves up four spots to become our new No. 1 song this week. This song swept all the music shows last week. “Red Flavor” is also doing well on all other chart sources, enabling Red Velvet to win easily this week. Congratulations to Red Velvet!
Moving back up one spot to No. 2 is BLACKPINK’s “As If It’s Your Last.” This song has been competing with MAMAMOO’s “Yes I Am” and Apink’s “FIVE” for the top spot on the chart. While the latter two songs are no longer in the top three, “As If It’s Your Last” has made a rebound this week.
There are two new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up nine spots to No. 3 is Zico’s “Artist.” This is one of the title songs on Zico’s second mini-album “Television.” It is a hip hop song that sends a message to listeners, telling them to freely express their artistic side.
Debuting at No. 10 is the much anticipated 2017 comeback hit “Ko Ko Bop” by EXO. This song is the title track from EXO’s fourth studio album “The War.” It is very different from EXO’s past hits. “Ko Ko Bop” is a reggae-style pop song with a rhythmical harmony of reggae guitar and heavy bass sound. Members Chen, Chanyeol, and Baekhyun participated in writing the lyrics. “Ko Ko Bop” has a chance to become the No. 1 song next week!
