NU'EST W Scores First Win With 'Where You At'; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2017, October Week 5

NU’EST W, the sub-unit of the five member group NU’EST, scores their first ever chart topping hit with “WHERE YOU AT,” moving up 11 spots to become our new No. 1 song this week!

NU’EST debuted back in 2012. They were flying under the radar until this year, when four of the members participated in “Produce 101 Season 2.” One of the members, Minhyun, finished ninth and was chosen to become part of Wanna One. The other four members’ popularity also skyrocketed. As a result, they formed a sub-unit NU’EST W and released a ballad “If You” back in July, which peaked at No. 14 on our chart.

Recently, NU’EST W released their first mini-album “W HERE.” The title track “WHERE YOU AT” has not only become their first top 10 hit but also their first No. 1 song. The song alternates between vocals and rap. “WHERE YOU AT” won on “Music Bank” and “M!Countdown” last week as well. Congratulations to NU’EST W!

Indie duo Bolbbalgan4 has both the No. 2 and No. 3 songs this week. Up one spot to No. 2 and just getting edged out for the top spot by “WHERE YOU AT” is “Some,” while “To My Youth” moves up two spots to No. 3.

There is one other new song in the top 10 this week. Moving up nine spots to No. 5 is GOT7’s new song “You Are.” This is the title song from GOT7’s mini-album “7 for 7.” It is a pop dance song about a guy telling a girl that when he feels tired he wishes that she could light up his life.
