Wanna One Soars With "Beautiful"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2017, December Week 1
Wanna One’s “Beautiful” moves up 11 spots to become our new No. 1 song this week! This song is the title track of Wanna One’s repackaged prequel album “1-1-0(Nothing Without You),” and is a dance song with an emotional melody and powerful hip hop beats. The lyrics are about a man longing for the most beautiful moment of his life. “Beautiful” won on “Music Bank,” “M! Countdown,” “Music Core,” and “Show Champion” last week. Congratulations to Wanna One!
Last two week’s champion, TWICE’s “LIKEY,” is down one spot to No. 2 this week. This song won on “Inkigayo,” preventing “Beautiful” from sweeping all music show wins.
Moving up 12 spots to No. 3 is Red Velvet’s latest hit “Peek-A-Boo.” This is the title song from Red Velvet’s second studio album “Perfect Velvet” and is an up-tempo dance song with an addictive melody. The lyrics describe the exciting feeling of falling in love.
There is one other new song in the top 10 this week. Moving up 14 spots to No. 5 is Yoon Jong Shin and Minseo’s “Yes.” This is not exactly a new song, as it is the female version of Yoon Jong Shin’s big hit “Like It.” The re-written lyrics are about a couple who do not want to have any regrets on their breakup.
