iKON Recaptures Top Spot With "Love Scenario"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2018, March Week 1
iKON’s “LOVE SCENARIO” recaptures the top spot this week with a high score! This song was No. 1 two weeks ago, and stayed at No. 2 for the last two weeks behind Red Velvet’s “Bad Boy.” “LOVE SCENARIO” won on “Inkigayo” and “Music Core” last week and its overall strong showing enabled this song to become No. 1 again, for the second time. Congratulations again to iKON!
MOMOLAND’s “Bboom Bboom” moves up a spot to No. 2, its highest ranked position so far. This song won on “Music Bank” and “M! Countdown” last week. Rounding out the top three is last week’s champion, Red Velvet’s “Bad Boy,” down to No. 3 this week.
We have two new songs in the top 10 this week, both by male solo ballad artists. Moving up 12 spots to No. 6 is Roy Kim’s “Only Then.” This is a guitar-driven ballad written by the singer himself. The lyrics are about a man telling his girlfriend to love him right now, regardless of what will happen later on. Roy Kim is currently studying in the United States. Despite no promotions, this song becomes popular and moved into the top 10.
Up three spots to No. 9 is Jung Seung Hwan’s “The Snowman.” This is the pre-released single of Jung Seung Hwan’s first studio album, “And Spring.” This retro folk ballad is gaining a lot of attention as the lyrics were written by IU. Jung Seung Hwan’s emotional delivery is perfect for this end of the winter season ballad.
