MOMOLAND Rises With "BBoom BBoom"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2018, March Week 3
MOMOLAND capped an amazing breakout with their first ever No. 1 song this week as “BBoom BBoom” rose two spots to top our chart! Having debuted in 2016, MOMOLAND’s previous two hits, “Wonderful Love” and “Freeze,” only reached No. 44 and No. 39 respectively last year. But this year, they were able to score a chart topping hit! “BBoom BBoom” won on “Inkigayo” and “Show Champion” last week, and was finally able to overcome iKON’s “LOVE SCENARIO” and Red Velvet’s “Bad Boy.” Both songs had been ahead of “BBoom BBoom” in the last few weeks but have fallen to No. 2 and No. 3 respectively. Congratulations to MOMOLAND!
We have two new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up 16 spots to No. 5 is INFINITE’s Sunggyu. His song “True Love” is the title track from his first solo full length album “10 Stories.” Written by Nell’s front man Kim Jong Wan, “True Love” is a rock ballad highlighting Sunggyu’s vocals.
Debuting at No. 10 is MAMAMOO’s new song “Starry Night.” This is the title track of MAMAMOO’s sixth mini-album “Yellow Flower.” It is a guitar-driven electro house style song, with lyrics about a woman longing for her past love.
