BTS Guards Top Spot With "IDOL"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2018, September Week 5
The top three songs remained the same as last week, with BTS’s “IDOL” barely holding off Sunmi’s “Siren” for the No. 1 spot! “IDOL” is the second song this year to spend four weeks on top of our chart, with TWICE’s “Heart Shaker” being the other song. Congratulations again to BTS!
Despite sweeping all the music shows last week, “Siren” remains at No. 2 due to the big gap in our Soompi Airplay in comparison to “IDOL.” Also unchanged at No. 3 is Girls’ Generation-Oh!GG’s “Lil’ Touch.”
There are two new songs in the top 10 this week! Moving up 12 spots to No. 6 is Oh My Girl’s “Remember Me,” which is the title song of Oh My Girl’s sixth mini-album of the same name. It is a happy dance song about a girl’s memorable experience being remembered like the fireworks in the sky.
Female vocalist Punch scores her first top 10 hit with “Good Bye,” moving up 12 spots to No. 9. Punch is known for her OST songs, the most famous being the duet “Stay With Me” with EXO’s Chanyeol. “Good Bye” is a sad R&B ballad that showcases Punch’s strong vocals. Despite not having MVs or promotions, this song still managed to hit the top 10.
