Wanna One And BTS Ticket Scammers To Receive Legal Punishment
A couple of Korean ticket scammers are being legally punished.
On October 18, judge Kim Jin Hee sentenced one year and six months in jail to Mr. Jeon (33 years old), who was accused of habitual fraud charges regarding concert tickets.
The court revealed the reason behind giving the prison sentence. “The defendant has previously been accused of similar charges four times, and he was already imprisoned two times, but he repeated the crime again. The repeated offense towards unspecified individuals was deemed serious.”
Mr. Jun posted on social media that he is selling tickets for Wanna One’s concert. When individuals contacted him and sent him the money, he cut off contact. He is investigated to have committed the same fraud 30 times and earned 8 million won (approximately $7,000) in total. He used the fans’ money to spend it on gambling and living expenses.
Also on October 18, Mr. Lee (21 years old) was arrested for scamming with tickets. He used screenshots of other people’s tickets to earn about 13.3 million won (approximately $12,000) by scamming 40 people. About 8.4 million won (approximately $7,400) of the total was earned from selling BTS tickets to 28 people.
