Winners Of 2018 MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards
The first ever MBC Plus X Genie Music Awards celebrated many of the year’s most popular artists!
The event was held at Namdong Gymnasium in Incheon on the evening of November 6. BTS won the most awards of the night, taking home five trophies in total including two grand prizes (daesangs) — Best Artist of the Year and Best Digital Album of the Year — as well as Best Male Dance Performance, Genie Music Popularity Award, and Best Male Group.
BigHit Entertainment founder Bang Shi Hyuk also won Producer of the Year while Son Sung Deuk was awarded Best Choreography for BTS’s “IDOL.”
TWICE took home three awards, including the Best-Selling Artist of the Year grand prize, Best Female Group, and Best Global Performance. Wanna One also received three awards, including the Song of the Year grand prize and Best Male Vocal Performance for “Beautiful” as well as the MBC Plus Star Award.
