TWICE Succeeds With "Yes Or Yes"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2018, December Week 1
TWICE’s “YES or YES” repeats as our No. 1 song for the second week in a row! This song picked up another music show win in “Show Champion” last week. Overall, “YES or YES” remains strong in all chart sources and is far ahead of the competitions. Congratulations again to TWICE!
Holding on to the second spot is EXO’s former No. 1 song “Tempo.” This song is also steady on all fronts but had to settle for No. 2 again this week.
We have two new songs in the top 10 this week and they are just below the top two songs.
Moving up nine spots to No. 3 is BTOB’s “Beautiful Pain,” the title song from BTOB’s special album “HOUR MOMENT.” BTOB again shows why they are the top ballad group in Korea with this emotional ballad. The lyrics are beautiful but sad, describing the pain we feel when we realize our present moment will not return again. “Beautiful Pain” won on “Music Bank” last week.
Moving up seven spots to No. 4 is the first solo hit song from BLACKPINK’s Jennie, appropriately titled “SOLO.” It is a hip hop track with a trendy pop and electronic sound. The lyrics describe a young woman who feels more comfortable when she is single. “SOLO” won on “Inkigayo” last week and also dominated various internet charts.
