Chungha Guards No. 1 Spot With "Gotta Go"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2019, January Week 4
Chungha’s “Gotta Go” is going nowhere, as it stays on top of our chart for the second week in a row! This song won two more music shows last week on “Music Bank” and “Music Core.” It is the most consistent song across all of our chart sources this week. Congratulations again to Chungha!
The only new song in the top 10 this week is at No. 2. Moving up from No. 16 is Apink’s latest hit “%% (Eung Eung),” which is the title song of the group’s eighth mini-album “PERCENT.” It is an electronic style dance song with a dreamy melody. The lyrics are about a woman who is willing to wait for her love without making compromises, despite feeling alone. The witty song title “%%” is used to express “Yes Yes.” “%%” won on “Inkigayo,” “M Countdown,” and “Show Champion” last week.
An interesting fact regarding the top two songs this week is that both Chungha’s “Gotta Go” and Apink’s “%%” are written by hit maker Black Eyed Pilseung. These two songs from the same songwriter duo swept all the music shows last week.
Rounding out the top three and holding steady at No. 3 is EXO’s former No. 1 song “Love Shot.”
