Chungha Reclaims No. 1 Spot With "Gotta Go"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2019, February Week 3
Chungha’s “Gotta Go” has reclaimed the top spot on our chart this week! Due to the Lunar New Year holidays in Korea, the K-pop scene had been very slow with very few new releases. “Gotta Go” took full advantage of that and moved back up to No. 1. Overall, it is the third week that this song has spent on top of our chart. Congratulations again to Chungha!
Also taking advantage of the slow market is TWICE’s “YES or YES,” moving up five spots to No. 2. Dropping one spot to No. 3 is SEVENTEEN’s “HOME.” Despite picking up two more music show wins in “Music Bank” and “M Countdown” last week, “HOME” lacks a high score from internet charts to move up to the top spot.
We only have one new song in the top 10 this week. Moving up 14 spots to No. 5 is Woody’s “Fire Up,” his first-ever top 10 hit. Woody was a member of the male group N-Train, but after the group disbanded in 2013, he became a solo artist. “Fire Up” is an indie style hip hop song written by the artist himself about his own personal story. In the song, Woody wonders whether his ex-girlfriend will laugh or cry when she hears this song. “Fire Up” won on “Inkigayo” last week.
