SBS funE Responds To Speculations Of Yong Junhyung's Involvement In Chatroom With Jung Joon Young
SBS funE has clarified previous reports that led to speculations that Highlight’s Yong Junhyung was in a group chatroom, in which Jung Joon Young allegedly shared hidden camera footage several times.
On March 11, SBS’s “8 O’Clock News” included a further report on the chatroom including BIGBANG’s Seungri that is said to have involved the sharing of illegally taken videos and photos. At the end of the report, SBS News revealed that one of the singers in the chatroom was Jung Joon Young.
While providing evidence, SBS showed a chatroom participant named “Singer Yong” on screen, which led to speculations from the public that it was referring to Yong Junhyung. Immediately afterwards, Yong Junhyung’s agency Around Us Entertainment denied the allegations.
In their statement, the agency explained that while Yong Junhyung and Jung Joon Young are good friends, they were never in a group chatroom together. According to the agency, the conversation shared in the report was originally from a one-on-one chatroom between the two singers in 2016, when Yong Junhyung simply asked what was wrong with Jung Joon Young because he was having a hard time. At the time, Jung Joon Young replied that he got caught while taking a video and sending it [to friends], and Yong Junhyung asked in return, “You mean you were caught by the woman?”
In response, SBS funE explained that the messages released in the report were exchanged in a one-on-one chatroom between Yong Junhyung and Jung Joon Young.
However, the news outlet also clarified that the messages were actually exchanged in December 2015, which was nine months before Jung Joon Young was sued by his ex-girlfriend for making a sex video without her consent. In addition, SBS funE revealed that the female that Jung Joon Young was caught secretly filming was revealed was not his ex-girlfriend, but another female as known as “B.”
Yong Junhyung is currently set to enlist in the military sometime in April.
