MAMAMOO Guards No. 1 Spot With "gogobebe"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2019, April Week 1
MAMAMOO continues their reign at No. 1 this week with “gogobebe”! This song swept music show wins in the final week of March, leading it to win by a huge margin on this week’s chart. Congratulations again to MAMAMOO!
Park Bom’s “Spring” remains strong at No. 2.
There are three new songs in the top 10 this week. Moving up 12 spots to No. 3 is Baek Yerin’s “Maybe It’s Not Our Fault,” which is the title track from her mini album “Our love is great.” It is her first release in more than two years. Written by Baek Yerin herself, “Maybe It’s Not Our Fault” is an R&B ballad that describes the uneasiness that may unintentionally occur within a relationship. The song topped many digital charts and is Baek Yerin’s first top three song as a solo artist on our chart.
Moving up 16 spots to No. 6, indie rock group JANNABI scores their first top 10 hit with “For Lovers Who Hesitate.” JANNABI is a phrase meaning “monkey,” and all five members of the group were born in 1992, which was the year of the monkey. JANNABI’s music has a retro ’60s style reminiscent of The Beatles. “For Lovers Who Hesitate” from the band’s second studio album “Legend” is about a man who remembers fondly of his past love.
After breaking out last year with hits “BBoom BBoom” and “BAAM,” MOMOLAND returns to the top 10 this week, moving up 18 spots to No. 7 with “I’m So Hot.” This is the title song from their fifth mini album “Show Me” and is a fun dance track with witty lyrics highlighting the lives of MOMOLAND members as they ascend to popularity.
