IZ*ONE Ascends To No. 1 With "Violeta"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2019, April Week 3
We had a hotly contested battle for the top spot between two songs that debuted into the top 10 last week: Chen’s “Beautiful Goodbye” and IZ*ONE’s “Violeta.” These two songs also won all the music shows last week. Chen won on “Inkigayo” and “Music Core,” while IZ*ONE won on “Music Bank,” “M Countdown” and “Show Champion.” In the end, “Violeta” edged out “Beautiful Goodbye” by a tiny margin of 1.5 points to become our new No. 1 song! It is also IZ*ONE’s first No. 1 song on our chart. Congratulations to IZ*ONE!
As mentioned above, Chen’s “Beautiful Goodbye” lost a very close battle and settled for No. 2 this week. Rounding out the top three is last week’s No. 1 song, Taeyeon’s “Four Seasons.”
There are two new songs in the top 10 this week! Moving up 14 spots to No. 4 is BLACKPINK’s latest hit “Kill This Love.” This is the title track from BLACKPINK’s mini-album of the same name and is a hip hop song with an intense lead brass powerful drum sound. The charismatic rap and vocals add to the impression of what only BLACKPINK can do.
Moving up 11 spots to No. 6 is BOL4’s “Bom.” This is one of the three title songs from BOL4’s mini-album “Strength Of Flower.” It is an acoustic guitar driven song made for the spring season. The lyrics are about an adolescent girl enjoying the warm Spring energy and hoping her boyfriend loves her just like she loves Spring.
