BTS Guards No. 1 Spot With "Boy With Luv"; Soompi's K-Pop Music Chart 2019, May Week 3
It is Round 2 of the heavyweight battle between BTS and TWICE this week for the top spot on our chart! Unlike last week, BTS prevailed easily this time as their song “Boy With Luv” remains at No. 1 for the third straight week. “Boy With Luv” won on “Inkigayo” and “Music Core” last week. Congratulations again to BTS!
TWICE’s “FANCY” remains at No. 2. This song missed a golden chance to overtake “Boy With Luv” last week and now the gap between these two songs has widened.
There is only one new song in the top 10 this week. Moving up 12 spots to No. 3 is NU’EST’s “BET BET.” This song is the title track of NU’EST’s sixth mini-album “Happily Ever After,” their first release as a full group in nearly three years. Minhyun (whose solo song “Universe” is at No. 41 this week) rejoined the group after he completed his stint as a member of Wanna One. During his absence, the other four members formed the sub-unit NU’EST W with great success.
“BET BET” is actually the first-ever top 10 song under NU’EST’s name. It is a slow tempo dance song with R&B and future bass elements and is about a man who wants to devote all his love to a woman. “BET BET” won on “Music Bank,” “M Countdown” and “Show Champion” last week.
