BLACKPINK Becomes 1st K-Pop Group To Receive BRIT Silver Certification For Song In UK

BLACKPINK has officially gone silver in the United Kingdom for the very first time!

On September 20 local time, the BRIT Awards announced that BLACKPINK and Dua Lipa’s collaboration track “Kiss and Make Up” had received an official silver certification from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).

Following this new achievement, BLACKPINK is now the first K-pop group ever to receive the distinction for a song. (BTS has previously received BRIT silver certifications for their albums “Love Yourself: Answer” and “Map of the Soul: Persona.”)

According to the BRIT Awards’ certification thresholds, singles are certified silver at 200,000 units sold, while albums are certified silver at 60,000 units sold.
