1THE9 Talks About Their New Album, Audition Show Controversies, And More
1THE9 has made their comeback!
On October 17, 1THE9 held a showcase for their second mini album “Blah Blah” and answered questions asked by reporters.
Shin Yechan shared that all members took part in producing the album, explaining, “Producer Primeboi sent us the song’s instrumentals, and the nine of us wrote the lyrics and melody to it. We made the album while spending nights up to discuss together, so it’s precious and meaningful.”
1THE9 is a group formed by the winners of MBC’s audition program “Under 19.” Despite being a group from an MBC show, they have not been given very many opportunities to appear on the channel’s other shows. Regarding this, Lee Seunghwan said, “This is something we have to work harder on. If we work harder and do better, I think MBC will give us an opportunity as well.”
The group was also asked what they thought about the recent controversies surrounding Mnet’s audition programs, and Shin Yechan responded, “We’re also from an audition program. I heard the news, and I could understand how the trainees were feeling. I believe some of them have been trainees for almost 10 years, and thinking about their feelings makes my heart ache.”
1THE9’s new album “Blah Blah” contains a total of six tracks. The title track “Blah” is a future R&B dance track with a dream-like vibe, and its lyrics talk about wanting to whisper to someone they love all day long.
