Update: Choi Jong Hoon And Jung Joon Young Appeal Prison Sentences

Jung Joon Young has also appealed his sentence following Choi Jong Hoon and Burning Sun MD (merchandiser, or promoter) “Kim.”
On December 5, both Jung Joon Young and the prosecution submitted appeals to the court.
As a result, a second round of trials will take place for Choi Jong Hoon, “Kim,” and Jung Joon Young’s charges.

Choi Jong Hoon has filed an appeal over his sentence of five years in prison for aggravated rape (refers to rape that involves two or more perpetrators) in his first trial.
According to the court on December 4, Choi Jong Hoon submitted an appeal to the Seoul Central District Court through a legal representative today.
On November 29, five individuals including Choi Jong Hoon and Jung Joon Young were charged with aggravated rape in Gangwon Province in January 2016 and in Daegu in March 2016. They also faced charges of filming and spreading footage that was illegally taken during that time.
Choi Jong Hoon received a prison sentence of five years, and he will also have to spend 80 hours in a sexual violence rehabilitation program and will face restrictions of employment for five years in any organization related to children and teenagers.
Burning Sun MD (merchandiser, or promoter) “Kim” also received a prison sentence of five years and submitted an appeal the day before. Jung Joon Young, who received the largest sentence of six years in prison, has not yet appealed the ruling.
