The 2019 film “Parasite” has taken home another award!

On January 19 local time, the movie became the first foreign language film to take home the Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture at the 26th SAG (Screen Actors Guild) Awards.

This award is given to the entire main cast of a film when all the actors perform outstandingly, and “Parasite” was the first Asian film that was nominated and awarded.

When “Parasite” was deemed the winner, Song Kang Ho delivered the acceptance speech on behalf of the actors. He said, “I think ‘Parasite’ is a story about how to live life. After receiving such a meaningful ensemble award, it makes me think that we made a pretty good movie. I’m honored to receive the award in front of big actors who I admire so much, and I’ll remember this beautiful memory forever.”

Director Bong Joon Ho and actors Lee Sun Gyun, Choi Woo Sik, Park So Dam, and Lee Jung Eun, who also attended the event, couldn’t hide their joy, and all the Hollywood actors in attendance also gave a warm standing ovation to the actors of “Parasite.”

SAG Awards congratulated the film via Twitter, and TNT Drama announced the film’s achievement as well.

NEON, an American film production and distribution company, also shared the film’s big win, and the Hollywood Reporter showed Bong Joon Ho’s proud moment from their historic achievement.

With another award added to the film’s list of achievements, chances that the movie will win an award at the 92nd Academy Awards have increased. This year’s Academy Awards will be held on February 9.
