BTS Postpones North American Tour + KCON 2020 NY Cancelled Due To Coronavirus Pandemic
Amidst ongoing concerns over the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic, both BTS and KCON have announced changes to upcoming events.
On March 26 local time, Big Hit Entertainment officially announced that BTS would be postponing the North American leg of their “Map of the Soul” world tour, which was originally scheduled to take place from April 25 to June 6.
Stating that BTS’s tour would be “rescheduled to a later date,” the agency reassured fans, “All tickets will be honored for the new dates. Information on new show dates will be shared as soon as possible.”
Big Hit continued, “We are closely monitoring and following the guidance of all local governments regarding public events to ensure we are providing a safe environment for everyone involved as we continue to update our tour plans. We will share additional information regarding these new concert dates shortly.”
Earlier that same day, KCON USA announced that they had made the decision to cancel KCON 2020 NY due to COVID-19.
KCON USA stated, “After consulting with government authorities, health experts, and our partners, we have decided to officially cancel KCON 2020 NY with a heavy heart. The health and safety of all those involved in KCON are our highest priority and we look forward to meeting you at the next event.”
