BLACKPINK Announces Plans For 3-Step Comeback, With 1st Full Album To Be Released In September
Get ready: BLACKPINK will be “in your area” this June—and they intend to stick around until September!
On May 18, YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK is currently gearing up for a three-part comeback that will begin in June and culminate in the release of the group’s first full-length album in September.
The agency revealed, “BLACKPINK has finished recording more than 10 new songs and has completed production for their first studio album.”
Although YG Entertainment previously confirmed that BLACKPINK was preparing to make a comeback in June, the agency has now shared that the group’s June release will be just the first step of an elaborate, multiphase plan.
“BLACKPINK’s first new song, which will be released in mid-June, is a pre-release title track,” explained the agency. “The BLACKPINK members are currently preparing to film the music video for the song, and they are picking up the pace of their final preparations, including practicing their new choreography.”
YG Entertainment continued, “The second new song, which is a special kind of a new song, is scheduled for a release in July or August.” However, the agency declined to provide further details about this second track, asking for fans’ understanding about their reticence.
Finally, BLACKPINK is planning to release their long-awaited first studio album in September. YG Entertainment commented, “As it’s a first studio album that [BLACKPINK] has been preparing for a long time, we hope to create more opportunities for the group to greet fans through performances and other content than in any year before through a three-step, multi-phased release.”
Stay tuned for further updates!
