1THE9's Agency Confirms Report Regarding Group's Disbandment Date
1THE9’s agency has spoken up about the group’s impending disbandment.
1THE9 is a temporary project group formed through MBC’s survival audition show “Under 19.” The group debuted with their first album “XIX” and title track “Spotlight” in April 2019.
On July 27, media outlet Joy News 24 reported that 1THE9 will be disbanding on August 8. It was shared that 1THE9 had originally been scheduled to disband on July 8, but after their recent comeback was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the date of their disbandment had to be modified.
According to Joy News 24, the group’s management PocketDol Studio sent the members’ respective agencies an official document stating that 1THE9’s activities would be extended for an additional month. This is why 1THE9 was able to release their third and last mini album “Turn Over” on July 16.
The official document reportedly marks August 8 as the date of 1THE9’s disbandment, but if any promotional activities for their new album come up after August 8, the group will still carry out these activities, according to Joy News 24. Following this report, a source from PocketDol Studio shared to SPO TV News, “We sent each member’s agency an official document. 1THE9’s promotions end on August 8, and their activities as a group end that day. The members will then return to their respective agencies.”
