APRIL's Naeun Confirmed To Leave "Taxi Driver" Cast + Drama To Re-Film Scenes With New Actress
APRIL’s Naeun will no longer be starring in the drama “Taxi Driver.”
Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Taxi Driver” is about the mysterious taxi service Rainbow Taxi that takes revenge on behalf of victims who are unable to get justice from the law. Also starring Lee Je Hoon, Esom, and Kim Eui Sung, Naeun was cast for the role of Go Eun, a hacker at Rainbow Taxi.
On March 8, the drama’s production company released the following statement.
Hello. This is StudioS, the production company of SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama “Taxi Driver.”
The “Taxi Driver” production team has decided after discussion with her agency that actress Lee Naeun, who had an important starring role in the drama, will be replaced.
We ask for the understanding of viewers regarding this statement being released belatedly as it took time to thoroughly assess public sentiment regarding this situation and cast a replacement actress.
Filming for the drama “Taxi Driver” is about 60 percent complete. All of the footage feature this actress will be re-filmed with a new actress taking over.
StudioS and the “Taxi Driver” production team will do our best until the end in order to present a great drama. Thank you.
Previously, an individual claiming to be former APRIL member Hyunjoo’s younger brother made a post claiming that she was bullied by her group members, and Naeun was also accused of school bullying in elementary school. DSP Media has denied the allegations and shared they would take strong legal action against all posts that contain malicious slander and false information.
