Song Kang And Han So Hee's "Nevertheless" Joins Weekend Drama Ratings Battle As "Bossam: Steal The Fate" Breaks Own MBN Record
The battle for weekend drama ratings is heating up!
On June 19, JTBC’s highly-anticipated new romance drama “Nevertheless” finally aired its premiere. Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “Nevertheless” stars Han So Hee as Yoo Na Bi, a woman who doesn’t believe in love but still wants to date, and Song Kang as Park Jae Uhn, a man who doesn’t want to date but still wants to have flings.
According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of “Nevertheless” scored an average nationwide rating of 2.2 percent, marking a decline from the viewership ratings achieved by its predecessor “Undercover.” (The drama that previously occupied its time slot, “Undercover” premiered to a nationwide average of 3.5 percent and peaked at an average of 5.2 percent for its finale.)
Meanwhile, Jung Il Woo and Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri‘s hit historical drama “Bossam: Steal the Fate” continued to make network history for MBN.
The latest episode of “Bossam: Steal the Fate” earned an average nationwide rating of 8.842 percent, making it the most-watched cable program of the entire night—breaking its own record for the highest viewership ratings ever achieved by any drama in MBN history.
tvN’s “Voice 4” held steady for its second episode, maintaining its average nationwide rating of 3.2 percent from its premiere the night before. The drama also continued to take first place in its time slot across all cable channels among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored an average nationwide rating of 1.8 percent and a peak of 2.1 percent.
TV Chosun’s “Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) 2” rose to an average rating of 6.1 percent for its third episode, while tvN’s “Mine” dipped slightly to an average rating of 8.8 percent for the night.
Finally, KBS 2TV’s “Revolutionary Sisters” held onto its title as the most-watched program to air on any channel on Saturday, scoring average nationwide ratings of 23.4 percent and 28.6 percent for its two parts.
