Sowon Officially Signs With IOK Company As Actress + Changes Stage Name To Kim So Jung

Former GFRIEND member Kim So Jung (Sowon) has signed with IOK Company!

On August 2, a source from IOK company shared, “Sowon, who has received great love as GFRIEND’s leader, will change her stage name to Kim So Jung, and she plans on taking a new leap forward with IOK Company.”

They continued, “We plan on fully supporting Kim So Jung, who has endless potential, without holding back so that she can showcase her skills and grow as an actress. Please show lots of support and interest in actress Kim So Jung’s career as she promotes actively in the future.”

Kim So Jung debuted as a member of GFRIEND in 2015. On May 18, GFRIEND parted ways with their agency Source Music after all of the members decided not to renew their contracts, and the members shared handwritten letters confirming that the group had disbanded.

Since her debut, Kim So Jung has captivated fans with her diverse charms and talent as well as her powerful presence. The artist has previously exhibited her potential as a host through MBC every1’s “Look At Me” in 2018 and KBS Joy’s “Trend With Me” in 2019.  She also received the Beauty Icon award at the 2019 Korea First Brand Awards.

Kim So Jung will promote in a variety of fields under her new exclusive contract with IOK Company. The agency is currently home to many actors, such as Go Hyun Jung, Jo In Sung, and Kim Ha Neul.
