Fictional Boy Group Sparkling Tops Hanteo's Daily Album Chart—Despite Not Being A Real Group

“Imitation” boy group Sparkling has burst out of the small screen to make an impact on real-life music charts!

Sparkling—which consists of ATEEZ’s Yunho, Seonghwa, and San, as well as Boys Republic’s Suwoong—is a fictional boy group from the KBS drama “Imitation,” which follows the lives of idols in the competitive entertainment industry.

Despite not being an actual group, Sparkling’s “debut” release is doing remarkably well: on August 28, Hanteo Chart officially announced that their first mini album “DIAMOND” had topped its daily physical album chart for August 27.

According to Hanteo Chart, “DIAMOND” sold a total of 25,583 copies on August 27 alone—an impressive feat for a fictional group.

Meanwhile, Sparkling members Lee Yoo Jin, Se Young, and Min Soo (Yunho, Seonghwa, and San) are currently gearing up for a real-life comeback as members of ATEEZ. Check out their latest teasers here!
