BTS's Jungkook And Suga's "Stay Alive" Becomes 1st Korean OST In History To Enter UK's Official Singles Chart
BTS’s Jungkook’s “7 Fates: CHAKHO” OST track produced by Suga has now made K-pop history in the United Kingdom!
Last week, Jungkook released the new song “Stay Alive” (produced by Suga) for the soundtrack of BTS’s original webtoon and web novel “7 Fates: CHAKHO.” For the week of February 18 to 24, the song entered several of the United Kingdom’s Official Charts (which are typically regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts).
“Stay Alive” debuted at No. 89 on the Official Singles Chart, making it the first Korean OST song in history ever to enter the chart.
The song also swept the No. 5 spot on both the Official Singles Sales Chart and the Official Singles Downloads Chart.
Ever since its release, “Stay Alive” has been setting new records all over the world: after becoming the fastest song by any Korean soloist in history to hit No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs charts in 80 different regions and to sweep the No. 1 spot in the world’s eight biggest music markets, the track eventually went on to reach No. 1 in a total of 98 different regions within just 24 hours—a new record for Korean soloists. In the days since, that number has gone up to 104 different regions.
“Stay Alive” also broke the record for the biggest Spotify debut of any song by a Korean soloist, entering Spotify’s daily Global Top 50 chart at No. 3 the day after its release.
Congratulations to Jungkook and Suga on another historic achievement!
