ITZY's "CHECKMATE" Becomes 4th Girl Group Album In History To Surpass 700,000 Stock Pre-Orders
ITZY is already soaring to new heights with their upcoming mini album—even before its release!
Ahead of the group’s highly-anticipated comeback on July 15, JYP Entertainment officially announced that as of July 14, ITZY’s new mini album “CHECKMATE” had racked up an impressive total of 720,665 stock pre-orders.
Not only does the figure mark ITZY’s highest number of stock pre-orders for an album to date, but it also makes “CHECKMATE” only the fourth girl group album in history to surpass 700,000 stock pre-orders. The only other girl group albums to have achieved the feat to date are aespa‘s “Girls,” BLACKPINK‘s “THE ALBUM,” and TWICE‘s “Formula of Love: O+T=<3.”
The number of stock pre-orders is the amount of album stock that is produced prior to an album’s release. This number is the estimated demand calculated using various factors, including how many albums were pre-ordered by fans.
ITZY will be making their return with “CHECKMATE” and its title track “SNEAKERS” on July 15 at 1 p.m. KST. Check out their schedule for their first week of comeback promotions here!
