TXT Ties With BLACKPINK For K-Pop Artist With 2nd Most Cumulative Weeks On Billboard 200

TXT achieved more than one impressive feat on the Billboard 200 this week!

On August 16 local time, Billboard revealed that TXT’s latest mini album “minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” had extended its own record as the longest-charting K-pop album of 2022 on the Billboard 200 (which ranks the most popular albums in the United States). For the week ending on August 20, the mini album spent its 13th consecutive week on the chart at No. 175—making it the only K-pop album released this year to achieve the feat.

TXT is now only the second K-pop artist in history (following BTS) to chart multiple albums for 13 weeks each on the Billboard 200, with their 2021 album “The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE” having previously spent 13 weeks on the chart last year.

Additionally, TXT has now tied BLACKPINK’s record for the second most cumulative weeks on the Billboard 200 of any K-pop artist in history: both artists have spent a total of 31 weeks on the chart (across different albums).

“minisode 2: Thursday’s Child” also climbed back up several other Billboard charts this week. Over three months after its release, the mini album rose to No. 6 on the World Albums chart, No. 7 on the Top Current Album Sales chart, and No. 8 on the Top Album Sales chart.

Finally, TXT climbed back up to No. 65 on this week’s Artist 100, marking their 32nd overall week on the chart.

Congratulations to TXT!
