Kim Tae Ri In Talks For Upcoming Webtoon-Based Drama

Kim Tae Ri is considering an offer to star in a new webtoon-based drama!

On November 16, Kim Tae Ri’s agency Management mmm shared, “It’s true that Kim Tae Ri has received a casting offer from the producers of ‘Jeong Nyeon’ [literal title]. It’s one of the projects she is considering.”

Based off a webtoon of the same name, “Jeong Nyeon” is set in the 1950s and tells the story of Yoon Jeong Nyeon, a young girl from Mokpo who has no money or education, but is born with a talented singing voice. The historical drama follows the happenings that occur when Yoon Jeong Nyeon joins a women’s traditional theater company to achieve her dreams of becoming rich.

Kim Tae Ri has received an offer to play the titular role of Yoon Jeong Nyeon. This offer is especially exciting for fans of both the actress and webtoon as the original webtoon artist Namon has stated that they referenced Kim Tae Ri’s character in “The Handmaiden” while creating the character Yoon Jeong Nyeon.

Kim Tae Ri is currently set to make her drama return next year in SBS’s upcoming mystery thriller “Demon” (working title).
