BLACKPINK's "BORN PINK" Is 1st K-Pop Girl Group Album Of 2022 To Chart For 9 Weeks On Billboard 200
Once again, BLACKPINK has made Billboard history with their latest album!
Back in September, BLACKPINK became the first female K-pop artist ever to top the Billboard 200 when their latest studio album “BORN PINK” debuted at No. 1.
To add to that achievement, “BORN PINK” has now spent its ninth consecutive week on the chart, overtaking TWICE‘s “BETWEEN 1&2” to become the longest-charting 2022 album by a female K-pop artist. For the week ending on November 26, “BORN PINK” came in at No. 160.
Additionally, BLACKPINK is now the first female K-pop artist in history to have more than one album spend nine weeks on the Billboard 200. No other female K-pop artist to date has charted an album for nine weeks, which means BLACKPINK’s “THE ALBUM” and “BORN PINK” are the only two K-pop girl group albums ever to have reached the milestone.
BLACKPINK also continued to perform well on several other Billboard charts this week. “BORN PINK” ranked No. 35 on the Top Current Album Sales chart and No. 56 on the Top Album Sales chart, marking its ninth consecutive week on both charts.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s latest title track “Shut Down” climbed back up to No. 29 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 59 on the Global 200 this week, and their pre-release single “Pink Venom” climbed back up to No. 35 on the Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 79 on the Global 200.
Congratulations to BLACKPINK on their historic achievement!
