TWICE Becomes 1st Girl Group From Any Country To Sell Out California's SoFi Stadium
TWICE has made girl group history with their upcoming concert at California’s SoFi Stadium!
Last year, TWICE became the first female K-pop artist in history—and only the second overall, following BTS—to hold a stadium concert in the United States, selling out the Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles with an encore concert for their “III” world tour.
To add to that achievement, TWICE is about to become the first female group from any country (not just K-pop girl groups) to perform as a headlining act at an NFL Stadium in the United States. This summer, as part of the U.S. leg of their “READY TO BE” world tour, they will become the first girl group to hold concerts at the MetLife Stadium and the SoFi Stadium.
Immediately after ticket pre-sales opened on March 22 local time, tickets for TWICE’s SoFi Stadium concert on June 10 sold out in a flash—making TWICE officially the first girl group ever to sell out the stadium, as well as only the second K-pop artist to achieve the feat (once again, following BTS).
However, their SoFi Stadium show wasn’t the only concert TWICE sold out on their first day of pre-sales: after multiple North American and Australian shows sold out in the blink of an eye, TWICE added additional shows for six different cities the following day. (You can check out all of their new dates here.)
TWICE also recently set a new record for the biggest U.S. sales week of any female K-pop artist in history, with their latest mini album “READY TO BE” racking up an incredible 145,500 pure album sales (and 153,000 equivalent album units) in the first week of its release.
Congratulations to TWICE on another historic achievement!
