tvN’s upcoming drama “Twinkling Watermelon” has released a new teaser!

“Twinkling Watermelon” is a fantasy coming-of-age drama in which a CODA (child of deaf adult) student born with a gift for music crash lands at an unfamiliar place after time traveling through a suspicious music shop. There, he forms the band Watermelon Sugar with other mysterious youths.

Ryeoun plays Eun Gyeol, the only person who can hear in his deaf family and who leads a double life as the perfect model student by day and a band guitarist by night. Choi Hyun Wook takes on the role of the passionate Lee Chan full of Generation X vibes. Seol In Ah transforms into Seowon Arts High School’s cello goddess Se Kyung whereas Shin Eun Soo plays the cold and haughty “ice princess” Chung Ah, who has been deaf since birth.

The new teaser begins with Eun Gyeol’s grandfather (Chun Ho Jin) explaining the meaning of CODA to his grandson, saying, “[They are] the people who connect the world of sound and the world of silence.” As a CODA born with a gift for music, Eun Gyeol uses words, his hands, and music to connect the two worlds. Even after he slips to 1995, Eun Gyeol continues to play his role by teaching sign language to his deaf mother Chung Ah and music to his father Lee Chan, who was not deaf at the time.

“Don’t waste your precious youth—shine while you can.” Just like what Eun Gyeol’s older brother Eun Ho (Golden Child’s Jaehyun) told him, Eun Gyeol enjoys his given situation to the fullest while taking good care of his family both in the past and in the present. Viewers are curious to find out about what kind of twinkling world will be drawn out by Eun Gyeol, the son who travels through time and meets his father and mother in their childhood.
