“Twinkling Watermelon” is a fantasy coming-of-age drama in which a CODA (child of deaf adult) student born with a gift for music accidentally travels back in time to 1995 through a suspicious music shop. There, he forms the band Watermelon Sugar with other mysterious youths.

Ryeoun stars in the drama as Eun Gyeol, who feels a great sense of responsibility toward his family to the point where he secretly enjoys the music he likes because he feels sorry being the only person in his family who can enjoy music. Viewers are curious to find out about why Eun Gyeol is so desperate about both music and his family that he has no choice but to lead a double life.

More still images below preview an unexpected fire that occurred when Eun Gyeol was a child. Eun Gyeol’s father (Choi Won Young) and mother (Seo Young Hee), who are caught in the crowd and standing anxiously by the ambulance, make miserable facial expressions as they see their son held in the firefighter’s arms helplessly. Curiosity is high for what happened to Eun Gyeol’s family that night and what impact this incident will have on Eun Gyeol’s life.
