NewJeans Becomes 1st K-Pop Girl Group To Chart An Album In Top 100 Of Billboard 200 For 14 Weeks
NewJeans’ “Get Up” is enjoying unprecedented success on the Billboard 200!
Back in August, NewJeans made history by becoming the fastest female K-pop act ever to debut on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums chart, which their latest mini album “Get Up” entered at No. 1.
Months later, the EP hasn’t dropped out of the top 100 for a single week—and for the week ending on November 4, “Get Up” remained stable at No. 98.
“Get Up” has now become the first album by a female K-pop act ever to spend 14 weeks in the top 100 of the Billboard 200. It has also overtaken BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” to become the second longest-charting K-pop girl group album in Billboard 200 history (bested only by BLACKPINK’s “THE ALBUM,” which charted for 26 weeks).
Outside of the Billboard 200, “Get Up” held onto its spot at No. 2 in its 14th week on Billboard’s World Albums chart, in addition to climbing back up to No. 12 on the Top Current Album Sales chart and No. 17 on the Top Album Sales chart.
NewJeans also spent their 18th non-consecutive week on Billboard’s Artist 100 at No. 92, tying FIFTY FIFTY’s record for the female K-pop act with the third most cumulative weeks on the chart.
Finally, several of NewJeans’ songs continued to perform well on Billboard’s global charts. The girl group charted six different songs on this week’s Global Excl. U.S. chart, where “Super Shy” came in at No. 38, “ETA” at No. 88, “Ditto” at No. 140, “OMG” at No. 151, “GODS” at No. 155, and “Hype Boy” at No. 180. Meanwhile, on the Global 200, Super Shy” climbed back up to No. 56, followed by “ETA” at No. 156.
Congratulations to NewJeans on their ongoing success on the Billboard charts!
