Melon Music Awards 2023 Announces Nominees For Daesangs And Category Awards

The Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2023 has kicked off its next round of voting!

On November 16, the first round of voting for this year’s Top 10 artists ended, and the winners were announced the following day. Voting has now officially opened for the Daesangs (Grand Prizes) and category awards.

Only music released between November 4, 2022 and November 1, 2023 was eligible for this year’s awards.

Melon’s new Millions Top 10 awards, which will be given to 10 albums that surpassed 1 million streams on Melon within the first 24 hours of their release, will be based 80 percent on their Melon download and streaming counts and 20 percent based on votes.

Melon has also opened voting for a number of additional awards, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Song of the Year, most of which will be determined based 60 percent on Melon download and streaming counts, 20 percent on judges’ evaluations, and 20 percent on votes.

Exceptions to the 60-20-20 formula are Best Music Style, which will be determined based 20 percent on Melon download and streaming counts, 60 percent on judges’ evaluations, and 20 percent on votes; and the KakaoBank Favorite Star Award, which will be determined based 20 percent on judges’ evaluations and 80 percent on votes.

Other awards that have not been included in the online voting, such as Record of the Year and Music Video of the Year, will be determined based entirely on judges’ evaluations.
