Honey Lee Is A Widow Who Leads A Double Life In "Flower That Blooms At Night"
MBC has unveiled its first poster for its upcoming drama “Flower That Blooms at Night”!
Set in the Joseon era, “Flower That Blooms at Night” is an action-comedy drama starring Honey Lee as Jo Yeo Hwa, a woman who has lived a quiet and modest life as a virtuous widow by day for 15 years. However, she is secretly leading a double life: at night, she valiantly sneaks out to help and take care of those in need.
In the newly released poster, Jo Yeo Hwa wears mourning attire as she stares into the camera with a determined gaze. Notably, her entire face is cast in shadow except for her eyes, giving the illusion that she is wearing a mask to conceal her identity. The tension of the image also hints at the action-packed life that Jo Yeo Hwa leads by night.
Meanwhile, the poster’s caption declares, “If the strict law of the nation cannot help its powerless subjects, then I can save them, right?”
The drama’s production team commented, “We used black and white to capture the double life of [Jo Yeo Hwa], who wears mourning attire by day, but wears a mask and martial attire by night to jump over her fence.”
“Through this first poster, we wanted to show the contrasting sides of the character of Yeo Hwa,” they continued. “Please look forward to the double life of Yeo Hwa, who has polar-opposite dispositions [by day versus night].”
“Flower That Blooms at Night” will premiere on January 12, 2024 at 9:50 p.m. KST.
