Actor Kang Kyung Joon Responds To Reports Of Being Sued For Adultery
Kang Kyung Joon has been sued for allegedly having an affair with a married woman.
On January 3, a media outlet reported that Kang Kyung Joon had been sued for 50 million won (approximately $38,131) in damages on December 26 for allegedly having an affair with a married woman (hereafter referred to as “Mrs. A”). The plaintiff is said to have claimed that Kang Kyung Joon essentially caused the destruction of his family.
According to the lawsuit, Kang Kyung Joon and Mrs. A worked together in the same building and on the same floor at a real estate brokerage firm. Mrs. A’s husband alleges that Kang Kyung Joon had an affair with Mrs. A despite knowing that she was a married woman. The plaintiff has allegedly submitted evidence to back up his claims.
Initially, Kang Kyung Joon responded to the allegations by stating, “I don’t know why this is happening. I haven’t received the summons yet. There seems to be some kind of misunderstanding.”
Later that same day, however, Kang Kyung Joon’s agency K-Star Global Entertainment stated, “We have confirmed that the actor received the legal documents [notifying him of the lawsuit] today,” adding, “We will respond sequentially.”
Kang Kyung Joon got married to actress Jang Shin Young in 2018, and they have two sons. Kang Kyung Joon debuted in 2004 through the MBC sitcom “Nonstop 5” and has since appeared in numerous works including “Barefooted Youth,” “My Beloved Sister,” and “Thorn Flower.” He is currently appearing in the KBS2 variety program “The Return of Superman.”
