Gong Hyo Jin Talks About Her Newlywed Life With Kevin Oh, How They Became Close, And More On "You Quiz On The Block"

Gong Hyo Jin has talked about her relationship with her husband Kevin Oh on the latest broadcast of “You Quiz on the Block.”

Earlier in October 2022, Gong Hyo Jin and Kevin Oh got married with a private wedding ceremony in New York. In her recent guest appearance on “You Quiz on the Block,” Gong Hyo Jin talked about her wedding, marriage life, and her relationship with her husband.

Gong Hyo Jin started off by revealing that she talked for 10 minutes during the vows at her wedding after forgetting the piece of paper she prepared with notes. When asked what she talked about, however, Gong Hyo Jin replied, “I don’t really remember.”

Talking about her newlywed life, Gong Hyo Jin shared, “It has already been one year since our wedding. When I tell people that we turn the lights out together to head to bed at the same time, [my friends] all tell me that’s because we’re newlyweds.”

She continued, “I want to spend even just one more day with him.” On celebrating anniversaries, she added, “I asked my husband to make me music every year. We could gather that together and make an album. There would be no need for him to sing well, and it could be just instrumentals.” Gong Hyo Jin explained that he unfortunately couldn’t finish the song for their first anniversary because they were too happy as newlyweds for him to get sentimental and fall into the vibe of writing an emotional song.

Furthermore, Gong Hyo Jin revealed that she saved her husband’s name on her phone as “Angel,” adding that even her in-laws tease her for having such a corny nickname for Kevin Oh. Gong Hyo Jin added, “I really saw wings.”

Regarding how she met her husband, Gong Hyo Jin shared that she attended Kevin Oh’s concert, and afterwards, she happened to attend a concert with Kevin Oh, who bought the tickets for their group of friends. Gong Hyo Jin joked, “I got his bank account number before his phone number.”

Afterwards, the two met up when Gong Hyo Jin was traveling to the United States soon after “When the Camellia Blooms” aired and Kevin Oh was visiting his family. Although she was reluctant about eating dinner together at first in fear of being spotted in public, Gong Hyo Jin shared that she ended up grabbing dinner with Kevin Oh at a Thai restaurant, and the two began to gradually message each other.

Gong Hyo Jin also briefly talked about her stellar filmography, with all of the 13 dramas she starred in hitting double digits in ratings and with eight of those dramas surpassing 20 percent. When Yoo Jae Suk remarked, “We heard that you asked Kang Ha Neul, ‘Are you ready for your life to change?’ before filming ‘When the Camellia Blooms,'” Gong Hyo Jin wittily joked, “I said that to Jo Jung Suk too,” highlighting how she is a veteran in the industry.
