tvN’s upcoming drama “Captivating the King” has unveiled new stills ahead of the premeire!
Penned by “The Crowned Clown” writer Kim Sun Deok, “Captivating the King” will tell the love story of King Yi In (Jo Jung Suk), a miserable monarch who feels empty inside despite his high position, and Kang Hee Soo (Shin Se Kyung), whose initial plot of revenge against him transforms into an unexpected attraction.
The newly released stills depict the tense scene in which King Yi In and Kim Myung Ha (Lee Shin Young) exchange gazes with Kang Hee Soo in between them in the rain.
Kim Myung Ha is the son of King Yi In’s enemy Kim Jong Bae (Jo Sung Ha), who is the minister of military affairs. Kim Myung Ha has been harboring feelings for Kang Hee Soo, but he always gets rejected by Kang Hee Soo. Tensions rise between the relationship between Kang Hee Soo, who is keeping her true identity a secret from King Yi In, Kim Myung Ha, who has a secret, and King Yi In, who is feeling great curiosity and heart-fluttering excitement toward Kang Hee Soo. Furthermore, as Kang Hee Soo and Yi In promised to play Go when it rained, viewers are curious what will unfold during this coincidental meeting.
The newly released stills depict the starkly different facial expressions of the three. King Yi In gazes upward with excitement and curiosity on his face for this long-awaited encounter with Kang Hee Soo, the only friend that he plays Go with. In contrast, Kim Myung Ha is glaring at someone with a sharp gaze. Meanwhile, Kang Hee Soo looks flustered as she tries to avoid King Yi In’s eyes.
