Spoilers
On the previous episode of “My Happy Ending,” Seo Jae Won’s husband Heo Soon Young (Son Ho Jun) died of poisoning, and though Seo Jae Won was investigated by the police for his murder, she was released due to insufficient evidence. Later, when Jae Won experienced anxiety and nervousness ahead of a shareholders’ meeting aimed at dismissing her, she realized that her friend and psychiatrist Jo Soo Kyung (Lim Sun Woo), whom she had always consulted, was a hallucination. At the end of the episode, she voluntarily entered a psychiatric hospital.
Newly released stills from the drama’s next episode depict Seo Jae Won receiving treatment at the psychiatric hospital. She obediently takes the medicine given to her by the nurse, undergoes examinations, and engages in a serious conversation with the doctor about her psychological condition. In one photo, Jae Won appears to be in anguish after awakening from a nightmare that left her drenched in sweat.
In the following set of stills, Seo Jae Won actively participates in a group therapy session alongside other patients, revealing her determination to recover from the bipolar disorder from which she has suffered for a long time.
Will Jae Won be able to recover and return to her normal life? And will she be able to break free from the hallucination of Jo Soo Kyung and find out the truth about her husband’s death?
According to the drama’s production team, Jang Nara impressed with her acting during the filming of the psychiatric hospital treatment scene. She perfectly depicted Seo Jae Won’s roller coaster ride of emotions—from the despair of starting the difficult fight to regain her mental health to the agony of overcoming her pain. Additionally, she realistically portrayed an anxious and nervous Jae Won shedding tears while trying to pull herself together after a nightmare and flawlessly captured Jae Won’s determination to overcome her fear and give her best during her treatment.
The production team of “My Happy Ending” shared, “[Seo Jae Won’s] voluntary admission to a psychiatric hospital and the detailed process of her treatment will evoke both sympathy and anticipation.” They added, “Please tune in to see if [Seo Jae Won] will be able to safely complete her treatment and begin her thrilling [revenge].”
