Yoo In Soo And Eum Moon Suk Boast Unexpected Bestie Chemistry As Ghost Employees In “The Midnight Studio”
Yoo In Soo and Eum Moon Suk form an unlikely duo in ENA’s upcoming drama “The Midnight Studio”!
“The Midnight Studio” tells the thrilling yet mysterious story about a prickly photographer Seo Ki Joo (Joo Won), who runs a professional photo studio that only exists for the deceased, and passionate lawyer Han Bom (Kwon Nara) as they cross life and death with the night guests.
Yoo In Soo and Eum Moon Suk take on the role of ghost employees at the studio. Yoo In Soo stars as Assistant Manager Ko, who is in his third year of working at the Midnight Studio, while Eum Moon Suk plays ex-detective Baek Nam Goo, who is now a rookie employee at the studio.
Despite their contrasting personas, these crucial figures within the studio forge an endearing friendship, infusing the drama with an extra layer of intrigue and amusement.
Assistant Manager Ko, who passed away from overwork in his lifetime, also approaches his duties at the studio with unwavering passion. Without prompting, he diligently cleans the studio daily, lends a sympathetic ear to guests’ stories, and strives to fulfill their every request. Consequently, he often finds himself scolding Seo Ki Joo whenever the latter seeks to leave work early, as Ki Joo prioritizes maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Despite facing Ki Joo’s reprimands, Assistant Manager Ko maintains a cheerful and unapologetic attitude, never failing to irk Ki Joo.
Baek Nam Goo is a newbie at the Midnight Studio who just joined the studio a month ago. Alongside handling rude guests, he takes care of the petty tasks assigned by Assistant Manager Ko. Despite being a rookie, his ironic status as the oldest member adds an interesting dynamic to his relationship with Assistant Manager Ko. Despite being a newcomer, his past as a former detective lends him an air of charisma and authority. Even Assistant Manager Ko, notorious for his brazen retorts to Ki Joo, reverently addresses him as “Mr. Baek,” acknowledging his commanding presence.
Opting to stay as ghost employees at the studio due to unresolved matters on earth, Assistant Manager Ko is determined to tick off all 162 items on his bucket list, while Baek Nam Goo, a devoted husband, harbors a hidden story that makes it hard for him to leave his wife even after his death.
Yoo In Soo commented, “I believe it would be fun if you focus on watching the process of these two contrasting characters becoming friends and bonding over their shared mission of fulfilling the guests’ desires.” Eum Moon Suk added, “Baek Nam Goo possesses telekinetic abilities, whereas Assistant Manager Ko can inhabit the bodies of the living, so it’ll be intriguing to see them solve guests’ cases by using their abilities.” Both actors also rated their chemistry a perfect 10, heightening anticipation for their interactions in the series.
“The Midnight Studio” is set to premiere on March 11 at 10 p.m. KST. Catch a teaser here!
