'The Outlaws' Becomes 1st Korean Film Series In History To Surpass 40 Million Moviegoers

Ma Dong Seok’s hit “The Outlaws” series has set a new record at the Korean box office!

On May 13 at 7:30 a.m. KST, “The Roundup: Punishment”—the fourth and latest film in the “The Outlaws” series—officially reached a total of 9,756,978 moviegoers after topping the box office for three weeks straight.

As a result, the “The Outlaws” series has now drawn a total of over 40 million moviegoers across all four of its film, making it the first Korean film series in history to surpass the 40 million mark.

The first “The Outlaws” film drew a total of 6,880,546 moviegoers during its run, the second (“The Roundup”) a total of 2,693,415 moviegoers, and the third (“The Roundup: No Way Out”) a total of 10,682,813 moviegoers.

Meanwhile, “The Roundup: Punishment” recently became the fastest film in the “The Outlaws” series to surpass 9 million moviegoers, as well as the fastest Korean film released in 2024 to reach the milestone.
