After watching her performance, both the audience and celebrity panelists were visibly impressed by Hourglass’s angelic vocals and skillful singing. Praising her talent, Yoon Sang pointed out that “The red shoes” was an incredibly difficult song, but that Hourglass had managed to pull it off.
However, despite charming the crowd with her voice, Hourglass ultimately lost the round to her opponent, and she remained on stage to take off her mask and reveal her identity.
On the previous episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” ATBO’s Yeonkyu guessed that Hourglass was IVE’s Liz after hearing her sing during Round 1—and several of the panelists, including Kim Gura, agreed with his guess.
Sure enough, Hourglass turned out to be none other than IVE’s main vocalist Liz.
As a gift to the many viewers who had been hoping to see her performance for the final round, “The King of Mask Singer” later released footage of Liz’s rehearsal for Round 3, during which she was planning to sing Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon’s famous ballad “If.”
