(G)I-DLE, BIBI, And More Light Up The Stage At Head In The Clouds New York 2024
Head In The Clouds New York has closed off another successful edition!
Earlier this month, 88rising, The Bowery Presents, and Goldenvoice produced the second-ever Head In The Clouds New York Music & Arts Festival at the legendary Forest Hills Stadium in Queens, New York, the birthplace of 88rising. It once again proved to be a wonderful celebration of Asian and Asian-American music, food, and culture.
The two-day affair featured genre-spanning talent from ATARASHII GAKKO! and Joji to BIBI, (G)I-DLE, and more. The festivities kicked off on May 11 with electric sets by Wang OK and YOUNG POSSE, who treated fans to a special performance of “MACARONI CHEESE” on the 88rising Stage presented by Honda. YOUNG POSSE was followed by epic sets from the likes of Balming Tiger, Juliet Ivy, thuy, dhruv, wave to earth (performing their first-ever US festival set), and ILLENIUM B2B Dabin. K-pop group (G)I-DLE closed out the first day with a jampacked set in front of a roaring crowd, performing “Wife” off their latest album “2” for the first time ever in the United States.
May 12 saw opening acts like SPENCE LEE and Warren Hue welcome festival goers back to Forest Hills for Day 2 with performances from artists including Awich, Deb Never, Lyn Lapid, and Eyedress. ATARASHII GAKKO!’s unforgettable set was topped off with hints of a return to the city during their upcoming world tour, while BIBI made her New York City festival debut. Head In The Clouds New York came to a close on Sunday evening with Joji’s dynamic hour-long performance, which featured fan-favorite songs like “Glimpse of Us” and “SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK.”
88rising’s 2024 Head In The Clouds New York festival partners included returning stage partner Honda, who brought an immersive Honda Stage Lounge with bespoke vinyl record listening stations, retro arcade games, and more for fans to experience. Longtime partner Johnnie Walker offered attendees 21+ exclusive Black Label whisky cocktails while the classic soft drink brand and partner, Coca-Cola, integrated their products with an onsite sampling truck. Additional partners included American Express with their 360 photo-booth activation, BlueTriton/Pure Life, New York City Tourism + Conventions, Rakuten Viki, ZEPETO, and ZTX.
