Hey New Yorkers! Want Soompi to Send You to See Kung Fu Chefs at NYAFF?

The New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF 2010) is “one of the city’s most valuable events” (The New York Times) and a “crazed, capricious, super-freaky mega-mix of art house and grindhouse” (The Village Voice). NYAFF wants Soompiers to check out the delicious Hong Kong comedy “Kung Fu Chefs”, starring Vanness Wu and martial arts superstar Sammo Hung. “Kung Fu Chefs” is a B-movie classic about people who like to fight and cook good food. NYAFF and Soompi are giving away two pairs of tickets to see Kung Fu Chefs on Saturday, June 26 or Monday, July 5 (your choice). You can enter using Facebook and/or Twitter by doing the following:

– On Facebook, share this news article by clicking the “Share This” link located at the bottom of the article.

– On Twitter, Tweet the following message: I want @soompi to send me to see the Kung Fu Chefs at #NYAFF2010! http://bit.ly/9mDT39

On Friday, June 18, we will randomly select two winners. In order to be eligible to win, you must have a valid Soompi account. Sammo Hung will be introducing the film on June 26, so we advise you to watch the film on premiere night!

Even if you don’t win, definitely try to attend the festival — there are romantic comedies from China, mutant battle girls from Japan, kung fu epics from Hong Kong, and giant man-eating pig movies from Korea. (For those interested in Korean movies, this year’s entries include “Actresses”, “Blades of Blood”, and “Castaway on the Moon” — the directors of which will be present at the screenings!)  Check out the complete line-up at Subway Cinema News.  NYAFF 2010 runs from Friday, June 25, to Thursday, July 8, at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater, Japan Society, and the IFC Center.
