Announcing JCPenney's "Back To School Breakout Performer Contest"

Have you always dreamed of becoming a famous performer?  Well, here’s your chance!  JCPenney and International Secret Agents (ISA) are holding their annual “Back to School Breakout Performer Contest”, and they want to hear from all you talented Soompiers!  If you have a video camera and a special performing talent – whether it’s singing, playing an instrument, dancing, reciting poetry, juggling, styling an outfit, or anything else – this could be your big break!  

To participate, visit your nearest JCPenney store and pick out a cool new clothing item.  Wear the item in your video and explain how it completes or makes your new look.  Then demonstrate your talent using the theme of “School Pictures” and/or your interpretation of “New Look.  New Year.  Who Knew!”  The submission deadline is July 29, 2010.  Once your submission is reviewed, it will be uploaded to ISA’s YouTube page.  The top ten most viewed videos will go onto the next phase, where people will vote for their favorites.  The top five most favorited videos will go onto the next phase, where a panel of ISA artists and JCPenney representatives will choose the winners based on an equal division of criteria: creativity/originality (33%), quality (33%), and best interpretation of the themes and JCPenney apparel styling (34%).

The winner will receive a $500 gift card and an electric guitar from JCPenney, a trip for two to Los Angeles to see an ISA concert, and a chance to perform LIVE at the 2010 ISA Los Angeles or New York concert!  Last year’s winner, Clara Chung, has since performed at the White House, collaborated with Jay Park and Dumbfoundead, and starred in a national commercial for the U.S. Department of Education.
