Hallyu Stars Support Toyota

Back in 2010, Goo Hye Sun – most known for her role as Geum Jandi in hit drama “Boys over Flowers,” co-starring Lee Min Ho, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum, and Kim Joon – was selected as the new face of Toyota’s Prius in Korea. Not only did she endorse Prius, but she also owned one herself, making her much more influential and trustworthy in the consumer’s eye. Initially, she was brought in as the endorsement model for the line but was later commissioned as Toyota Korea’s promotion ambassador. As the promotion ambassador, she actively informed the public about the environmental and economic benefits of the Prius.

Known as one of the cleanest, most eco-friendly vehicles, Toyota has come up with four models of Priuses (Prius V, Prius C, Current Generation Prius, and Prius Plug-In) in order to meet the needs of consumers in different demographics.

Toyota has since recruited hallyu stars like Kim Tae Hee and Lee Min Ho to endorse its products in hopes to capture the Asian/Asian American market not just in Asia, but also North America, taking full advantage of the hallyu boom.
