[Exclusive] New York Asian Film Festival Tickets Giveaway!

The New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF) runs from June 29^th to July 15^th this year, and we’ve teamed up with them to giveaway two pairs of tickets to our lovely Soompiers!

The film is on its 11^th year, and features an extremely diverse set of films that are guaranteed to keep everyone thoroughly entertained.

Korean films are very well represented at the festival, with a diverse selection starting with classics such as “Oldboy” to more recent films including this year’s blockbuster, “All About My Wife”, featuring Im Soo Jung.  There are lesser known gems you may otherwise not be exposed to, such as “Failan”, featuring Choi Min Sik and Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung, and “The King of Pigs”, the first Korean animated film to show at Cannes.

We’ve picked two movies we think our Soompi audience will enjoy, and winners will be able to decide which movie they’d like to get tickets for.

1 – The first movie we recommend is this year’s summer blockbuster, “All About My Wife,” a remake of the Argentinian movie, “A Boyfriend for My Wife”.  This romantic comedy tells the story of a husband who finds it easier to hire a Casanova to woo his wife away, than to ask her for a divorce.    With a talented cast including Im Soo Jung from classic K-drama, “I’m Sorry, I Love You,” and Lee Sun Kyun from “The 1^st Shop of Coffee Prince” and “Pasta,” the movie is bound to be a delightful treat.

2 – The second movie we recommend also happens to be a remake; “Couples” is a remake of Japanese film, “A Stranger of Mine”.  It’s a light hearted romantic comedy, with a quirky charm in the way it weaves together the individual stories into a cohesive plot.  Starring in the film are Lee Si Young, from the hit drama, “Boys Over Flowers,” and Kim Ju Hyuk, well known from “Lovers in Prague”.
