Kim Soo Hyun Shone Like a Star at Fan Meeting in Singapore

The Alien Star, Kim Soo Hyun, shone brightly at his recent “2014 Kim Soo Hyun Asia Tour 1st Memories” held at the Singapore Expo on April 27. His spontaneity, unique humor, and even his pause for thought charmed and dazzled the full house crowd of 2,800.

Kim Soo Hyun kick-started the night with the song, “Dreaming“, from his drama “Dream High“.  It was followed by a light-hearted chat with the host on five of his main productions, and it was filled with witty responds from the megastar.

On “The Moon that Embraces the Sun”, he wasn’t shy to declare that “not everyone could pull off the Hanbok look”, thereby leaving everyone to presume that he wears Hanbok well.  With his movie, “The Thieves”, laughter erupted when he joked that he brought 30 pieces of underwear in his luggage and nothing else when filming overseas.  On the other hand, his revelation that he was being beaten up a lot in the action scenes and had to starve for the topless scene in “Secretly Greatly” got the fans going “Awwwww….”  Undoubtedly, “My Love From the Star” was the fans’ favorite show.  He cheekily shared that he was enjoying himself when he was the only one who could move during the kissing filming scene at the frozen lake; he was shy to share further details about his kiss scenes with Jun Ji Hyun, and left it to the imagination of his fans.

Fan meets are only complete with close interaction between the celebrity and the fans.  In the first game, Kim Soo Hyun posed with fans for a photograph related to his roles in his various dramas and movies.

Through the second game of “Wishing Tree”, he also granted wishes from three fans. The playful actor could not stop teasing the first fan whom he repeatedly asked to bring the person in the photo. From signing on ticket stubs to his fan meet in various countries, taking a photo together, to staring at each other for a full 15 seconds, he granted them all and left these 3 fans happy, but had certainly gotten many fans in the audience jealous and wishing they were the one on stage looking at their idol into the eyes.  He mischievously ended the more than 15 seconds eye-to-eye contact with a pose similar to “Chun Song Yi” that led to the drama’s first kiss scene.  Probably to this fan’s dismal, their 15 seconds eye contact did not end with a kiss.

The final game have fans receiving gifts and a photo with the boyish star, and a male fan was one of them to everyone’s surprise. Three other songs, including his rendition of Wonder Girls’ “Nobody”, and “In Front Of Your House” were serenaded to his fans that night.

At the closing of the event, with a tearful face, touched by the love shown to him in Singapore, he promised to be back to see the fans with his next production soon.

Kim Soo Hyun was certainly far from the cold and aloof character in “Man From the Stars”.  By the end of the night, the “Alien Star” left many fans smiling, and some in tears, yearning for more of him.
